Armed men target delivery driver, tuck shop in Effingham Heights

Greenwood Park SAPS is investigating further.

A MAN was robbed in Effingham Heights on Wednesday afternoon after making a delivery to a local tuck shop in the area.

Swift Private Security received numerous calls and messages of gun shots on Ramchand Road and immediately attended where witnesses informed officers that four suspects held up the driver.

“They stole his personal belongings along with his GWM bakkie while the other two suspects robbed the tuck shop for an undisclosed amount of cash and items,” said Swift spokesperson, Sanveer Sooklall.

“While the suspects were fleeing the scene they hijacked another resident from Ramchand Road for his Sliver VW Polo and shot at him,” said Sooklall. The motorist sustained a gun shot wound and was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Shortly after the incident the GWM bakkie was recovered in the KwaMashu area by the respective tracking teams,” said Sooklall.
