eMdloti complex evacuated as heavy rains continue

The mudslide and flooding has worsened in the eMdloti area.

THE continuous mudslide and heavy rain has forced the evacuation of a complex on North Beach Road in eMdloti.

According to Terry Rens, an eMdloti resident the flooding at the block of flats had worsened.

“The persistent and heavy rainfall has continued unabated which has resulted in more mud and water flowing down Bellamont Road and into the complex below. Earlier the basement of the complex was covered in sand and water. Various community members are assisting those who don’t have places to stay due to the evacuation,” she said.
