GALLERY: Residents have a ‘wheelie’ good time at Durban North neon challenge

The challenge involved parents, learners and visitors cycling in relay teams around the school field up to a mile in their best neon gear.

DURBAN North College educator, Anthony Stokes, has hailed the Neon Mile MTB Cycle Challenge held at the school a resounding success.

The challenge involved parents, learners and visitors cycling in relay teams around the school field up to a mile in their best neon gear.

There were also prizes for the best-dressed, explained Stokes.

“This was our first big event since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and it was awesome to see so many people come out and support the event. We had hoped for even more people but that just gives up hope that next year’s event will be even bigger. It was an awesome event and our school field was the setting for the challenge,” he explained.

“I must give praise to the learners and parents for dressing up as that really brought a lekker vibe to the evening. We had three categories for the challenge which included juniors, tweens and seniors. Overall the evening was loads of fun and the school as a whole are looking forward to hosting future events.”
