WATCH: Theft suspects nabbed on N2 near Queen Nandi Drive

The suspects crashed into a motorist on the N2 as they attempted to evade arrest.

TWO men were arrested on Tuesday evening (March 8) after a high-speed chase ended in a crash on the N2 near Queen Nandi Drive.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell, the suspects had allegedly been involved in theft out of a motor vehicle at the Ballito Junction Mall.

“A description of the vehicle was circulated and members of our Special Operations Team spotted the vehicle traveling south on the N2 in the vicinity of uMhlanga. Our members pursued the suspects, driving a white Hyundai i20 with false number plates, and they immediately sped off in an escape attempt.

“The suspects lost control of their vehicle and crashed into an innocent motorist in a silver VW Polo, causing both vehicles to roll. A female occupant in the Polo was severely injured and she was transported to hospital,” Powell said.

Powell added that various stolen items, including three laptops, were recovered in the suspect’s vehicle.

Several car break-in implements were also found.
