Drivers escape from hijacked truck on Queen Nandi Drive

The vehicle was returned to the driver of the truck due to no case being reported.

A TRUCK, hijacked from the Kenville area, was recovered in Imvubupark Place in Riverhorse Valley on Saturday afternoon.

“Marshall Security emergency dispatch centre received information about the hijacking of an Isuzu truck that had occurred in the Kenville area after it had delivered bread at a local supermarket,” said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell.

According to information received, the driver and co-driver’s phones and personal belongings were stolen from them before they were forced into the back of the truck by the armed perpetrators.

“The suspects drove off with both drivers locked in the back of the truck. The drivers eventually managed to get out after forcing the doors open and jumping off on Queen Nandi Drive,” said Powell.

Following up on information received, members of Marshall’s special operations team responded to the last known direction in which the hijackers had been travelling and recovered the abandoned truck in Riverhorse Valley.
