Get counted: Census door-to-door visits extended

Stats SA Fieldworkers can be identified by their official Stats SA ID cards, green bib and a cap showing Stats SA logo.

STATISTICS South Africa (Stats SA) has extended the date for Census 2022 door-to-door visits to March 20.

“People who missed the deadline in February for telephonic and online interviews will now be visited by a Stats SA fieldworker and be assisted to complete census questionnaire,” said Stats SA spokesperson Gabriel Dlamini.

He said participating in a census had many benefits for the individual citizen and for the province at large.

“These benefits include but not limited to accessing fair and equitable share in the budget allocation by National Treasury,” he said.

He said information shared with Stats SA is kept confidential in line with the Stats Act and POPI Act.
