KERRI Pfeil has been appointed the new principal of Rosehill Primary School.

The Sunningdale resident, who has been at the school for 12 years, served as the school’s Grade 7 and Grade 5 teacher and departmental head under the leadership of the previous principal, Rima Naidoo who retired last year.

“I’m honoured and privileged to lead such an amazing school. The support from the staff, learners, SGB Members and parents has been fantastic. The support from other principals in the community has also been a blessing. I’m also grateful to Mrs (Rima) Naidoo for her help in grooming and seeing the potential in me. I am not only passionate about Rosehill Primary School but also the holistic development of a child and education. I am excited about the challenge that lies ahead,” she said.

The new principal said plans were afoot to grow the school this year to fulfil the needs of the community.

“We are planning on breaking ground to bring in new classrooms for the grades R to 3. This will be done in phases and we are also hopefully looking at building a new school hall at a later stage,” she said.
