Man killed in Springfield Park shooting

Paramedics responses to the scene where police escorted them into an office building.

A MAN was declared dead on the scene of a shooting incident in Springfield Park today, Monday, February 21.

Garrith Jamieson of Advances Life Support (ALS) Paramedics said they were called to Electron Road just after 14:15.

“ALS paramedics responded together with SAPS and Metro Police to the scene of a shooting incident that has occurred at a business premises,” he said.

“On arrival, paramedics were escorted by police into an office where they found a man, believed to be in his 40s, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. There was nothing  more paramedics could do and he was declared dead on the scene,” said Jamieson.

Jamieson said police were on the scene investigating.

“At this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown,” he said.
