Durban North house robber arrested

The suspect and the stolen items were handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.

A burglar was stopped in his tracks after he held up a domestic worker in Kelvin Place, Durban North yesterday (Tuesday).

Armed response officers from Marshall Security arrested him at approximately 12.45 after the control room had received multiple panic activations.

“The client stated that a suspect had just jumped into their property from a neighbouring property,” said Marshall spokesperson, Tyron Powell.

“Teams arrived at the scene within minutes and immediately arrested the suspect,” he said.

After searching the alleged burglar, officers found a cellphone and a screwdriver in his possession.

“It was later established that the suspect had committed a house robbery in the neighbouring property in Annan Place where the domestic worker was held up with a screwdriver. The suspect demanded her cellphone and cash,” said Powell.

This property was not monitored by Marshall.
