Business burglar nabbed on Blackburn Road

The suspect surrendered after he was caught inside the business premises in Parkhill.

A SUSPECT was arrested on Sunday morning, January 30, by members of Marshall Security.
 
According to the security company’s spokesperson, Tyron Powell, the break-in occurred at about 04:00 at a business premises on Blackburn Road.
 
“When officers responded to the scene they noticed the front gate to the business premises was open. One of the windows had been forced open. Stolen items were also found on the outside of the building next to the forced window.
 
 
“Our officers surrounded the building as they could hear noises coming from inside the premises. The suspect realised there was no way of escaping and surrendered himself and was placed under arrest. Greenwood Park SAPS arrived on scene and the suspect was charged for business burglary and theft,” he said.
 
According to Powell, the suspect is known and has been arrested in the Durban North and Greenwood Park areas for similar criminal offenses.
