Armed suspects hijack man in Avoca

The hijacking occurred on Tasneem Crescent.

A GROUP of armed men made off with a brand new vehicle in a hijacking in Avoca on Friday (January, 28).

Sanveer Sooklall, the spokesperson for Swift Private Security, said the incident occurred at about 11:00 on Tasneem Crescent.

“The armed suspects arrived in a gold vehicle and approached the resident and his client and demanded their valuables. The suspects then fled the scene with cash, cellphones and a brand new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro vehicle with no registration.

“The vehicle has a marking of a Hindu Aum Symbol on the front windscreen. Fortunately, the residents were not physically harmed during this ordeal but they were traumatized,” he said.

Just a week ago, an Effingham Heights resident escaped unharmed in an attempted hijacking by three armed suspects using a VW Polo.
