Man killed in uMhlanga drive-by shooting

The victim was declared dead at the scene.

AUTHORITIES have cordoned off Meridian Drive in uMhlanga where one person was shot and killed in an alleged drive-by shooting.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they reported there was a bullet-ridden vehicle and one male victim seated in the vehicle.

According to Netcare 911’s spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and face.

He confirmed that the victim, whose age is unknown, was declared dead at the scene.

“The motive behind the incident is unknown at this stage,” added Herbst.

The Northglen News reached out to Durban North Police for comment, but none was given by the time of publication.

A statement, released by Reaction Unit South Africa, stated that several rifle cartridges were recovered at the scene.
