Share the love with The Robin Hood Foundation

Love The Babies, GOGO Bags and Share Your Treasure are a few of the foundation's on-going projects.

THE Robin Hood Foundation has started off 2022 on a very busy note.

The organisation’s chairperson and founder, Cindy Norcott, said several projects are currently underway and the community’s involvement is needed to make these initiatives a success.

“A large part of our focus for 2022 will be on empowerment in the form of creating sustainable permaculture gardens and helping creating micro businesses in disadvantaged communities. We are so excited to see how these plans unfold,” said Norcott.

If you have any unwanted household items, such as clothing, linen, towels, accessories, handbags, shoes and the like, which are still in good condition, donate them to the organisation’s Share Your Treasure campaign.

These pre-loved treasures will be used for the GOGO bags project. Each bag is a food hamper that is filled with non-perishable food, such as maize, samp, rice, soya mince, sugar, tea, canned items; blankets; and second-hand clothing.

“Our first project has been scheduled for February 2, where we will distribute 120 bags to needy gogos in Inchanga,” she said.

The organisation also needs baby clothing and items for its Love The Babies project, which is essentially a ‘baby shower in a bag’.

“The bag is packed with items for the first year of a new baby’s life, such as pre-loved baby clothes and blankets,” said Norcott.

The bags are then hand-delivered to the new moms in need.

Donations of toiletries a mom and her baby would appreciate, including unused creams, nappies, wet wipes, and Vaseline, are also welcome.

Donations must be placed in black refuse bags, as its easier to transport, and can be dropped off at the following points:

  • CGA Agencies, 235 Underwood Road, Pinetown (031 708 1018) from 08:00 to 16:00.
