Support needed for Chris Hani Road clean-up

The is the second clean-up on Chris Hani Road and the organisers urge the community to participate.

CHRIS Hani Road (North Coast Road) is one of the roads that will be that target of a community clean-up on Saturday, January 29.

The clean-up is being led by the Teens Under the Hood South Africa (TUTH-SA) organisation.

The non-profit company, which was started by Durban North resident, Michelle Beaumont, will see various communities come together to clean up sections of the busy road.

“The environment is important to us and we want to show everybody that we love our communities. This is also an opportunity for the younger generation to give back and help out where needed. The litter situation on Chris Hani Road is a problem, so we decided to tackle that specific spot.

“We’ve also opened this up to all communities across Durban as well. Each community can chose their own areas and focus on them. So far, through our open call to residents, community clean-ups are scheduled for Wentworth, Sydenham, Phoenix and Chatsworth,” Beaumont said.
