WHEN it comes to creative genius in cosplaying, look no further than Durban North resident, Justin Walter.

The 35-year-old has created some memorable costumes showcased at Comic Con Africa and at events around Durban.

Northglen News recently caught up with Walter to find out about his hopes for 2022.

1. Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for 2022?

“To be honest, I would like to start donating blood frequently. That’s my resolution this year as the blood bank needs everyone’s support and help.”

Justin Walter, dressed as Marvel character Korg, encourages residents to donate blood.

2. Tell us about a failed New Year’s resolution?

“My previous answer is unfortunately a product of the answer to this question. Donating blood frequently. I’ve been meaning to do it for many years now but haven’t done so yet.”

3. Tell us about your successful New Year’s resolution which is still in play after so many years?

“Its more of a constant work in progress, but I’ve done my best to follow a weekly routine which keeps a healthy balance in my life between family, personal health, work and my hobbies. Its so important to have time for all these aspects in life and by following my outlined routine as strictly as I can. I’ve managed to keep a good balance between all of them, Although it can waiver at times I do eventually revert back to the core routine.”

4. What are your goals for 2022?

“I’d like to improve my crafting skills as a cosplayer to compete in Comic Con Africa this year. I would also like to start racing in Marathons again after not having participated in long distance runs for several years now.”

5. What’s something, big or small, that brings pleasure in my life right now?

“Small: finishing a morning run and feeling ready to take the day by the horns. Big: working on large crafting projects that challenge me and then feeling the sense of accomplishment after completing it.”

6. How did you spend New Year’s Eve?

“I visited eMdloti for the day and then I spent new years evening at a friends house party to bring in the new year.”
