Housebreaker arrested after foot chase in Durban North

The suspect was one of five people arrested on Wednesday.

A SUSPECT, who was nabbed in May last year for theft, has been rearrested for housebreaking.

According to Marshall Security’s spokesperson, Tyron Powell, the suspect was caught after a foot chase on Old Mill Way on Wednesday morning.

“A resident called our emergency line stating that the suspect was attempting to break into their property. Once our officers arrived on scene, the suspect fled and a foot chase ensued,” explained Powell.

Once arrested, the suspect was found in possession of several pieces of clothing, shoes and jewellery.

“It was established that the items found in the suspect’s possession were taken in a housebreaking from a neighbouring property. The resident (was), at the time, unaware they had been broken into,” he said.

Powell added the suspect was arrested last year after he was found in possession of a stolen flat screen TV.
