Three arrested for uMhlanga business burglary

In a combined effort, Marshall Security and Phoenix Trio Crime Unit officers stopped the vehicle and apprehended the suspects.

THREE men, who allegedly stole 16 computer towers from an uMhlanga business on Friday evening, were arrested less than 24 hours after the incident occurred.

Marshall Security’s officers, together with the Phoenix Trio Crime Unit, followed up on intelligence received and nabbed the men in KwaMashu, together with the goods that were stolen during the business burglary.

“Three suspects, driving a silver Toyota Etios, entered the office building and forced their way into a call centre, where they stole computers towers,” said Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell.

A vehicle matching the description of the the one used in the business burglary was spotted on Amanzimtoti Road in the KwaMashu area.

“The occupants matched the description of the suspects involved in the business burglary and were arrested. Officers found 16 computer towers inside (the vehicle). It is believed that the suspects were on their way to sell the stolen property,” said Powell.

KwaMashu SAPS took over the scene and will be investigating.
