City announces new email address for electrical faults

The eThekwini electricity contact centre has a new email address.

THE eThekwini Municipality shared a new email address for residents to use when reporting electrical faults, power outages, street light faults, theft and damaged equipment. Residents can also use this channel for prepaid meter queries.

The City said the eThekwini electricity contact centre has migrated to a new email domain and changed its email address to: electricity.faults@durban.gov.za.

Residents can also call the toll-free numbers: 080 1313 111 or 080 311 1111.

“Please note the turnaround time is two to 24 hours. Power restoration times vary depending on the nature of the electrical fault incurred,” said the City.

For manual submissions of electricity meter readings, residents can find the relevant email address for their region by clicking on the map at https://ethekwini.maps.arcgis.com.
