Pedestrian discovers body on uMngeni River bank

SAPS will investigate the matter further.

The body of a man, believed to be about 30-years-old, was found on the bank of the uMngeni River, near Riverside Road, this afternoon.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen said a pedestrian had noticed the body.

“Closer inspection confirmed it to be a male approximately thirty years old. Paramedics assessed the man and confirmed him to be dead,” said van Reenen.

“The man sustained a stab wound which is thought to be the cause of death, however the South African Police Services will investigate further,” he said. Blue Security was also in attendance.
