Durban North organisation needs volunteers for cycling event

Volunteers are needed to assist with registration and at the water tables.

MANDELA Day may well be over, however, good deeds still need to be practiced every day and helping hands are always needed, said Esther Madikane, a member of the Domino Foundation, based at Anthem Church in Durban North.

The foundation, a non-profit organisation that works in KwaZulu-Natal’s largest informal settlement, Amaoti, is in need of volunteers to assist at this year’s aQuellé Tour Durban, a cycling event that starts and finishes at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“We would like anybody willing to join us as a volunteer to help at the aQuellé Tour Durban. We’re looking for people who can help at the registration table and at the water tables,” she said.

The target is 40 volunteers, who will be split into groups of 10 and stationed under four gazebos on specific days.

Registration takes place on Friday, November 26 at Cornubia Shopping Mall. The MTB race takes place on Saturday, November 27 with the road races taking place on Sunday, November 28.

“We need 20 volunteers for the Friday and Saturday respectively in preparation for the event. The Domino Foundation is the chosen beneficiary that will receive proceeds from this event,” said Madikane.

To volunteer, contact Esther Madikane at volunteer@domino.org.za or call 031 563 9605 before November 21.
