Umgeni Road crash leaves two fighting for their lives
The occupants of the second vehicle were assessed on scene by paramedics not seriously injured and were assessed on scene by did not sustain serious injuries.
A COLLISION on Umgeni Road last night has left two men fighting for the lives.
The Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, reported that the men, both about 30 years of age, were involved in a high-speed crash near Springfield Park.

“Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to the scene at the intersection of Umgeni and Electron Road just after 23:00, to find a Toyota Etios and a Fortuner had collided,” said van Reenen.
The driver of the Etios was trapped in the wreckage and in serious condition. Specialist hydraulic equipment needed to free him.
“Once stabilised he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” said van Reenen.
Another man was found in the back seat, slumped over and in a critical condition.
“Several interventions were performed to stabilise him before he was rushed to a nearby hospital,” he said.
The occupants of the Fortuner were assessed on scene by paramedics. They did not suffer any serious injuries during the accident.
