Man shot dead in La Lucia Ridge

Paramedics arrived at the scene and declared the man dead on arrival.

ONE person is dead after a shooting incident in Armstrong Avenue, La Lucia, this morning.

“The adult male was shot multiple times with a high-calibre rifle. He was declared dead at the scene,” said Shawn Herbst, spokesperson for Netcare 911.

Emer-G-Med paramedics also attended the scene.

“On arrival, a high-end luxury vehicle was found peppered with bullet holes, having rammed through a gate to a business premises,” said spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen. “Closer inspection found a male, believed to be approximately 45 years of age, seated in the vehicle, with fatal gunshot wounds.”

The scene is still active and an official police statement will be released later today.
