Four arrested after suspicious vehicle spotted in uMhlanga

The vehicle was also fitted with cloned number plates.

A VEHICLE, that has been linked to numerous theft of motor vehicles cases, was spotted in the uMhlanga area by Marshall Security’s special operation team on Saturday morning.

Additional backup vehicles were dispatched to assist and a high-speed chase ensued on the M41, westbound.

“The vehicle was eventually stopped by members of our special operations team, together with members of the Phoenix Trio Crime Unit. Four suspects were immediately arrested,” said Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell.

“Upon searching the vehicle, numerous computer boxes used to steal motor vehicles, as well as general car break-in implements, were found,” he said.

Powell added that the vehicle was also fitted with cloned number plates.

“The suspects are possibly linked to numerous vehicle theft cases in Durban North, Greenwood Park, Morningside and Phoenix,” he added.

The suspects were taken to the Phoenix police station for processing.
