Support Golden Hours weekly market

The market, which takes place every Sunday at the market site on 21 Uitsig Road, acts as a fundraiser for the Golden Hours School.

LYN Wilson who has run the Golden Hours Family Market for more than 20 years has encouraged the community to come out and support the weekly market.

The market, which takes place every Sunday at the market site on 21 Uitsig Road, acts as a fundraiser for the Golden Hours School.

“Our weekly market runs from 10:00 to 15:00 every Sunday and we’ve always had the support from the north Durban community. We just wanted to remind people that we are still operational as we had a few people enquiring about the market. Even though Covid-19 has had an impact on the market we are very much still operating. We follow all the Covid-19 protocols strictly and have a variety of stalls offering everything from plants, food and crafts. There’s also a playground for children to enjoy,” Wilson said.

She added that all funds raised from stall fees were fed back into the Golden Hours School.

“When we started the market the idea was for the market to act as a fundraiser for the school but also to offer a safe space for families in the community,” she said.

She reminded residents that the next KZN Vegan Market will take place at the same site this Saturday, September 4 from 10:00 to 14:00.
