“The driver of the vehicle went to pick up school children in Rosary Road, Kenville at 14.00 on August 18. While seated in his Toyota Etios waiting for some of the children, four adult males approached him and one threatened him with a handgun,” he said.

“The man who threatened the driver with a firearm then pulled him (driver) out of the vehicle and got into the driver’s seat while the other three removed the children from the vehicle, got in and drove off,” he added.

“No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained. The victim reported the incident to police and the vehicle was later recovered in KwaMashu,” said Slater.

An investigation is ongoing to trace the suspects.

Police are appealing to any one who can assist in the investigation and arrest to contact Detective Captain Vezi on 031 5716511/6.
