ONE man was killed, and two others were injured, in a shooting which occurred during an armed robbery in Avoca on Monday evening.
Emer-G-med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen said the incident occurred just after 19:00.
“Emer-G-Med paramedics were called to the scene of a shooting incident on Chris Hani Road (North Coast Road), in the Avoca area north of Durban. On arrival, three men were found to have suffered gunshot wounds in an apparent armed robbery incident,” he said.

“One man was found in a critical condition and was airlifted to a nearby hospital with the assistance of the Netcare 911 Aero-Medical Helicopter, for immediate definitive care, while another was found to have suffered moderate injuries,” he added.
The man with moderate injuries was treated and stabilised using advanced life support intervention, before being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
“A third man was found to have suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased on arrival of paramedics. The South African Police Services is investigating,” said van Reenen.
