Durban North NPO needs volunteers to pack grocery hampers

"Week by week, we have been calling on volunteers to be part of the story and assist us in packing these relief buckets which are to be distributed to many communities which were affected by the civil unrest," said Esther Madikane.

THE Domino Foundation, situated at Anthems Church in Durban North, is looking for volunteers to assist with packing relief buckets at the church tomorrow, August 18 from 9.00 to 11.00.

“We need volunteers to help us pack a total of 2000 relief buckets. If you know anyone who is available and would love to join us, please come through,” said Esther Madikane, project manager for the initiative.

The grocery hampers which were packaged last week.

The programme is part of the KZN Disaster Response which comprises five organisations, namely Zoe Life, City Hope ,The Domino Foundation, The South African Red Cross Society and the KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council.

“Week by week, we have been calling on volunteers to be part of the story and assist us in packing these relief buckets which are to be distributed to many communities which were affected by the civil unrest,” said Madikane.

She added that all organisations mentioned are working together to tackle the civil unrest as the KZN Disaster Response team.
