It is alleged that four suspects, armed with knives, held up the elderly couple on Saturday afternoon and fled with several items, including their vehicle. During the robbery, the man sustained a head injury.

“Investigations led the operational team to the Lamontville area, South of Durban. The team spotted the suspect’s vehicle, that was used in the house robbery, driving on Kaula Road. As soon as the suspects noticed the team members they started to flee. Two suspects were immediately arrested while the other suspects unfortunately managed to evade arrest by running into an informal settlement,” said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyrone Powell
He added that various house-breaking implements as well as property that was stolen in the house robbery were recovered in the vehicle.

“The suspects and the vehicle used in the commission of crime was taken to the Durban North Police station for further investigation and questioning.”

“Well done to the teams involved and for going the extra mile,” said Powell.
