The suspects entered the house by force and were armed with knives.

AN uMhlanga homeowner was assaulted in an armed home invasion on Fairview Drive on Saturday afternoon.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell, four suspects armed with knives confronted the homeowner and his wife at about 1pm.

“During the robbery the homeowner was assaulted and unfortunately sustained a head injury. Netcare 911 paramedics were immediately dispatched and stabilized the patient before transporting to a nearby hospital.

“The suspects made off with several items including the homeowner’s Audi sedan. The stolen vehicle was circulated to all our response vehicles to be on the lookout. A short while later the vehicle was spotted still idling on the N2 southbound before the KwaMashu off-ramp and was recovered by our Special Operations Team and members of the SAPS,” he said.
