Man injured in boating accident on eMdloti Beach

Paramedics and members of Marshall Security responded to reports of a boating incident in eMdloti. 

A MAN was seriously injured after he was struck by an outboard propeller on eMdloti South Beach on Tuesday morning.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, paramedics and members of Marshall Security responded to reports of a boating incident in eMdloti.

“Reports indicate that an adult male sustained serious head trauma after being struck by an outboard boat propeller while assisting to launch a ski-boat in the shore break. The patient was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner and once stabilised was transported to hospital for further treatment,” he said.

It has been a busy week for paramedics in the north Durban area. In the early hours of Monday morning paramedics responded to an accident scene where a man was impaled while climbing a fence on Carlisle Crescent in Durban North.
