ANC wins Ward 110 by-elections

The ANC won by a margin of 54.2 per cent of the overall vote.

THE ANC have won the by-elections for Ward 110 by more than 50 per cent of the vote.

The Electoral Commission confirmed the official results of Wednesday’s by-elections saying the ANC ward candidate received 54.2 per cent of the votes, while the DA won 35.75 per cent of the votes

Ward 110 comprises of Sunningdale, Glen Anil, Mount Moriah, Corovoca and Mount Royal.

The new ward councillor, Bongumusa Selby Dludla said he was happy to have won.

“I’m very happy to have won the ward and the ANC have reclaimed a ward in eThekwini. I’ve already identified a number of areas of concern including high unemployment, lack of housing and a lack of health facilities within the ward which I would like to tackle. I’m hoping to approach the Department of Health to discuss having a clinic in the area. I’m also hoping to engage with the Glen Anil Ratepayers Association and any civic body forum within the ward to discuss any problems facing residents,” Dludla said.

The ward was previously run by the DA, however in November last year, the former councillor stepped down
