Suspect arrested for rock throwing on Queen Nandi Drive

The suspect will be charged with malicious damage to property and was taken into the custody by Greenwood Park SAPS.

A SUSPECT was arrested on Queen Nandi Drive on Thursday, 13 May in connection with a rock throwing incident. 

According to Marshall Security spokesperson, Tammy Gove, the company’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client, stating that her husband was a victim of a rock throwing at about 9.15am.

“Our Armed Reaction Officer arrived on scene and noticed a suspect fitting the description that was given by the complainant, running on Queen Nandi Drive and requested for back up.”

“Additional officers were dispatched to assist and a foot chase ensued, which subsequently led to the suspect being apprehended.

“After apprehending the suspect, other motorists arrived on scene and claimed that they were also victims of rock throwing and positively identified the same suspect for damaging their vehicles,” said Gove.

Greenwood Park SAPS arrived shortly thereafter and arrested the suspect who will be charged with malicious damage to property, she confirmed.
