WARD 35 councillor, Nicole Bollman, has urged the north Durban community to consider disposing of their recycling refuse until further notice.

“Refuse left for recycling in our northern suburbs is currently not being collected and hasn’t been in some weeks. Upon investigating the matter, it has been established that the EPWP workers who were employed to work on this project have not been paid and that the contract ended.

“The recycling project is not directly dealt with by DSW but by a private contractor who is also currently inaccessible. While the investigation continues, can residents please remain vigilant of this current situation and consider alternative options of disposal until further notice,” she said.
