Durban community joins search for missing mom and daughter

The mom, who is also nine months pregnant, was scheduled for a C-section operation today but did not arrive at the admissions office.

A PREGNANT woman and her five-year-old daughter have been reported missing and dozens of members from the Durban community have joined in on the search.

“The circumstances around her disappearance is a family matter and wished for it to remain private. However, Tessa was scheduled to go for a C-section operation and never arrived at the admissions office,” said Andreas Mathios of Pro-Act Neighbourhood Watch.

It was reported expecting mom, Tessa Louise, and her daughter, Crystal Roodt, were given a lift by a member of the public in Hiberdene and dropped off near the Mtwalume off-ramp.

A photograph of the mother and daughter in the area has since gone viral.

Mathios said it is believed the 32-year-old mom could have been offered a lift to Johannesburg, from the Mariannhill Toll Plaza, by an unknown commuter.

They also activated search groups to monitor Durban hospitals.

She was last seen wearing a Bloubul t-shirt with black and white striped shorts and was carrying a suitcase.

If you are aware of her whereabouts, contact the case handler, Florien, on 061 123 3767.
