“Members of Metro Police Search & Rescue, SAPS Search and Rescue and eThekwini Lifeguards were called out to retrieve the body. Rescue personnel found the body was missing limbs, possibly because of marine life and brought the body to shore. The body was also partially decomposed. At this stage we’ve opened an inquest docket and our investigations are ongoing,” Deokaran said.

The discovery came a day before several near-drowning incidents in uMhlanga, Westbrook and eMdloti over the weekend.
