Suspects at large after stealing child’s bicycle in Durban North

The suspects were spotted in Virginia bush.

A STOLEN bicycle, belonging to a Durban North child, was recovered in the Virginia Bush after a 30- minute chase.

Tyron Powell, director of Marshall Security, said they responded to the scene at approximately 3. 45pm on Tuesday, 2 February.

“Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Center received a call from a client on Margaret Maytom Avenue informing them that two suspects had entered their property and stole their child’s bicycle. The suspects fled over the client’s boundary wall into Virginia Bush,” he said.

“Officers entered the bush to search for the suspect and after searching for approximately 30 minutes, the suspects were spotted towards the top part of Virginia bush. The suspects dropped the stolen bicycle and fled into the dense bush. The suspects unfortunately managed to evaded arrest,” he added.

The bicycle was handed over to the SAPS who were on scene.
