Cocaine and crystal meth dealer arrested in Avoca

During the stake out, police noticed a man exchanging items with other people.

GREENWOOD Park SAPS brought a drug dealer to book after undercover police posed as customers and purchased cocaine and crystal meth.

The suspect appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 1 February. 

Spokesperson for the Greenwood Park SAPS, Captain Jerome Slater said their crime prevention unit received information on a drug dealer operating on Firwood Road.

He said the unit staked out the area on 30 January at about 6.30pm, under the supervision of Captain Govinden.

During the stake out, they noticed a man (28) exchanging items with other people, added Slater.

“They sent undercover officers to purchase drugs and once the transaction was done, intercepted the drug dealer and on searching him found 20 small plastic wrappings containing cocaine and one plastic wrapping containing crystal meth,” he said.

The suspect was charged and profiled for further crimes.

“The suspect was arrested for dealing in crack cocaine and crystal meth. He was charged accordingly and profiled,” said Slater.
