Suspects arrested after high speed car chase in uMhlanga

After a high speed chase, the suspects were stopped on the M4 highway on-ramp in uMhlanga.

 

VEHICLE theft suspects were arrested today (24 December) after a high speed chase in uMhlanga at about 5am.

Tyron Powell of Marshall Security said members of their Special Operations Team were on patrol in the Umhlanga area, when they spotted a suspicious vehicle on Lagoon Drive.

“The suspects noticed that our team were following them and sped off, which lead to a high speed chase. Our team managed to stop the vehicle and suspects on the Umhlanga M4 freeway on-ramp. The three suspects were immediately arrested, as several car breaking implements were found in their possession,” he said.

Captain Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the Durban North SAPS confirmed that a suspect was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and possession of house breaking and car breaking implements.

The suspects and vehicle were taken to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing.
