Durban North SAPS search for missing man

Aston Van Rooyen went missing on 16 December at about 10.15pm along the M41 Highway.

THE Durban North SAPS is appealing to the community to come forward with information that could assist them in finding missing person, Aston Kaine Van Rooyen. 

Captain Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the Durban North SAPS, said Van Rooyen went missing on 16 December at about 10.15pm along the M41 Highway near the Crescent Shopping Centre off-ramp in uMhlanga.

“He went out with his two friends that night and on their way back their car ran out of petrol. Van Rooyen went to look for help towards Cornubia. The two friends went toward Gateway to try and get some petrol from the garage. When the two returned to the vehicle, the missing person had not returned back to the vehicle. They filled the petrol and started looking for him but couldn’t find him anywhere and that was the last time they saw him,” he said.

Deokaran said Van Rooyen’s family have reached out to the Phoenix SAPS, Phoenix Mortuary, Gandhi Hospital, Addington Hospital and Greenwood Park SAPS, to look for him.
