Nu Metro cinemas in KZN are levelling up on the movie fun in their cinemas from this Friday, as the hunt begins for some of the biggest monsters ever seen on cinema screens with Monster Hunter.

This new action-packed sci fi thriller will also be showing in Cornubia Mall’s larger-than-life Xtreme theatre to upgrade your cinema experience even further. You can also get ready for some laugh-out-loud movie fun as they show you how chaotic get-togethers with friends and family can be over the holidays in Dinner With Friends.

Here are this week’s new movie releases:

Monster Hunter (13 V)

[Showing at all Nu Metro cinemas]

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her elite unit are transported through a portal from our world to a new world, they are in for the shock of their lives in Monster Hunter. In her desperate attempt to get home, the brave lieutenant encounters a mysterious hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills have allowed him to survive in this hostile land. Faced with relentless and terrifying attacks from the monsters, the warriors team up to fight back and find a way home.

Dinner with Friends (16 DLNS)

[Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion only]

Dinner with Friends tells the story of Molly and Abbey, who, along with their crew of close friends and acquaintances, host a dysfunctional, comical and chaotic Thanksgiving dinner. The friends’ plans for a quiet turkey dinner go up in smoke when they’re joined by Molly’s new boyfriend and her flamboyant mother. Throw in some party crashers, including Molly’s old flame, a wannabe shaman, and a trio of other eccentric characters, and it’s a recipe for a comically chaotic holiday that no one will ever forget—even if they want to!

Remember, Nu Metro cinemas are now again open seven days a week, with all the necessary Covid-19 precautions in place to keep you safe.

WIN: There are six 2D tickets and six 3D tickets up for grabs. Simply fill in the competition form below and click submit. Competition closes on Monday, 14 December at 10am. Winners will be notified on Tuesday, 15 December.
