Greenwood Park SAPS join 16 Days of Activism campaign

SAPS members distributed pamphlets to the public to raise awareness on how to report gender-based violence.

THE Greenwood Park SAPS participated in the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign by hosting an awareness initiative at China Mall on Friday, 4 December.

Spokesperson for the Greenwood Park SAPS, Captain Jerome Slater said SAPS members distributed pamphlets to the public to raise awareness on how to report gender-based violence, human trafficking and missing persons/children.

“The pamphlets also offered tips on preventing theft of motor vehicles, remote jamming and carjacking. Shop owners were also made aware of the danger of carrying large amounts of cash to and from businesses and banking institutions. The campaign was well received by business owners and the public. Ongoing support will be given during the festive season making our city feel safer for all,” said Slater.
