ONE suspect was killed during a shootout with police on Crown Road in Kenville at 6pm on Wednesday.
Greenwood Park Police Field Unit and detectives together with Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team traced the suspects to the area, said Tyron Powell of Marshall Security.

“The suspects were wanted for several serious violent crimes,” he said.
Powell said the members were acting on information they received of the suspects’ whereabouts.
“As members approached the location, one of the suspects opened fire on the team. Members returned fire fatally wounding one of the suspects,” said Powell.

The suspect’s firearm was recovered and taken for ballistic testing, added Powell.
“Fortunately none of the operational team members were injured in the shootout. The scene was secured and will be investigated by the authorities,” he said.
Captain Jermone Slater, spokesperson for the Greenwood Park SAPS confirmed the incident.
