Armed gang hold up Kenville family

The suspects fled the scene with three cellphones and a TV.

A KENVILLE family were held up by a group of armed men during a house robbery on Friday evening.

According to spokesperson for Swift Private Security, Sanveer Sooklall, the incident occurred at about 8.15pm on Hendon Road.

“The family were watching TV when four suspects entered the home through the back door. Three of the suspects were armed with firearms and one suspect had a crowbar. They held up the family up at gunpoint. The suspects ransacked the house and demanded valuables from the family.

“The suspects fled the scene with three cellphones and a TV. The family is uncertain if the suspects arrived on foot or in a vehicle,” Sooklall said.

He added the company had attempted to track the cellphones, however, the phones were switched off and untraceable.

Members of the Independent Crisis Team (ICT) helped counsel the family following their ordeal.
