“The vehicle was tracking on North Coast Road (Chris Hani Road) and members of our Special Operations Team managed to spot the vehicle. Our team managed to stop the vehicle on Lancaster Grove and arrested one suspect,” added Powell.

“The scene was secured and handed over to South African Police Services for further investigation and processing,” he concluded.

Spokesperson for the Greenwood Park SAPS, Captain Jerome Slater confirmed that SAPS are investigating the matter.

“The vehicle is suspected to be stolen, subject to investigation,” he said.

Slater previously urged the community to install tracking devices in their vehicles after a recent spike in theft of motor vehicles and theft out of motor vehicles around business premises in Greenwood Park and surrounding areas.
