Culpable homicide case opened after three die in Glen Anil collision

The matter is under investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

A CASE of culpable homicide is being investigated by Greenwood Park SAPS detectives after three people were killed in a collision on Old North Coast Road on Sunday, 4 October just before midday.

“Family members, friends and the Phoenix community are reeling in shock after the sudden loss of three young men and the injuries sustained by the other party involved. The matter is under investigation to determine the cause of the accident,” said spokesperson for the Greenwood Park SAPS, Captain Jermone Slater.

SAPS Emergency Unit responded to the collision on Old North Coast Road just before the R102, said Slater.

“On arrival it was discovered that two vehicles collided – a Toyota Tazz with three occupants travelling west on Old North Coast Road and a Mazda with two occupants travelling east bound. The driver of the Toyota was negotiating a bend and wet weather conditions caused the vehicle to slide onto oncoming traffic and collide into the Mazda,” he said.
