Rinaldo Road murder victim identified as police hunt for suspect

The woman was identified by the community as a Redhill resident who frequented the Malacca Road Informal Settlement.

THE Greenwood Park SAPS are appealing to the community to come forward with information that could lead to the arrest of a murder suspect(s) after Nothando Hadebe (23) was found half naked and dead in the bushes of the Rinaldo Road community park on Sunday, 29 August. 

Captain Jerome Slater, spokesperson for the Greenwood Park SAPS, said investigations have revealed that Hadebe was assaulted.

“The half naked body of a lifeless woman was found in the outside boundaries of the park in the bushes. On further inspection, it was discovered that the victim was assaulted as visible injuries were noted on her head and body,” he said.  

A murder docket has been opened and is being investigated, said Slater.

“The motive for the murder is not yet known and forensic evidence has been found at the scene which is being investigated. At this stage no arrest have been made and the police are appealing to any person who can assist in the investigation to contact Detective Captain Vezi on 079 5000 251 / 031 5716511 or Greenwood Park Saps 031 5716512/3,” he said.
