Three killed in horror crash on N2

The cause of the crash is unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation.

A SEVEN month old infant, was among three people who were killed in a horror crash which occurred on the N2 near Queen Nandi Drive on Sunday afternoon. According to Life Response 24/7, the two other victims were 52 and 63 years old.

Paramedics arrived on the scene of the N2 south bound carriageway, to find that a Toyota Hilux had veered off the road, smashing into a steel support structure of an overhead signboard.

“Sadly there was nothing that could be done to help the infant and ladies, they were declared deceased on arrival of paramedics. Five other occupants of the vehicle were found to have suffered injuries, with three of them in a critical condition.

“Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilize them, before they were transported by ambulances, to various nearby receiving medical facilities. At this stage the cause of the crash is unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation,” the ambulance service said in a statement.
