‘Peppermint Crisp is here to stay,’ says Nestlé

The classic Bar One will still be in stock but its newer counterpart, Bar One Peanut will become a 'sweet nothing' at the end of July.

WHILE Nestlé’s Chocolate Log will be discontinued from August, the household brand has assured customers that their Peppermint Crisp, Bar One, Milky Bar and Quality Street chocolates are here to stay.

The classic Bar One will still be in stock but its newer counterpart, Bar One Peanut will become a ‘sweet nothing’ at the end of July along with the Chocolate Log, Milky Bar Peanut and Milky Bar Double.

These have been discontinued to make way for new products, said Zumi Njongwe, consumer communication and marketing excellence director for Nestlé East and Southern Africa.

“With new innovations, sometimes we need to say goodbye to certain sizes and flavours of our products. We are making way for new, tastier and more exciting products for you to enjoy and fall in love with – because you deserve it,” he said.

Njongwe said the response from customers had been overwhelming.

Hundreds of Chocolate Log fans took to social media to share their distain about the discontinuation of the sweet.

“What an overwhelming outpouring of support we have seen from our dedicated customers,” said Njongwe.

The response will inspire future chocolate creations, he added.

“We thank our customers for years of support. Your love of chocolate inspires our passion to keep bringing you new, delicious flavours,” he said.

Nestle’s Milo Bar will also be discontinued in the 10x80g and 24x80g sizes.
