Hyper-By-The-Sea store closed after positive Covid-19 case

The staff member’s close contacts were immediately traced and they were sent home to self-quarantine, said Pick n Pay.

THE Hyper-By-The-Sea store in Durban North has been closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

In a statement, Pick n Pay said deep cleaning and quarantine measures have been put in place and the store will open once cleared by health authorities.

“The staff member’s close contacts were immediately traced and they were sent home to self-quarantine for the required period. As a precaution, the remainder of the store staff who were not in close contact with the staff member have been screened by health practitioners. A specialist cleaning team has deep cleaned and sanitised the store. We are liaising closely with the health authorities and will reopen the store soon,” read the statement.

Pick n Pay added that all staff are screened before they start work.
