Three arrested in Durban North after armed home invasion

One of the suspects opened fire on security officers while trying to evade arrest.

THREE men were arrested on Saturday night for their involvement in an armed robbery on Chelsea Drive. The incident occurred at about 10.30pm, confirmed Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

In their attempt to evade arrest one of the suspects opened fire on security officers.

“The panic alarm was set off and our control room received a call from a neighbour informing them that there was a house robbery in progress. When armed officers arrived on scene we were confronted by six armed suspects attempting to flee the premises. One of the suspects fired shots at our officer and he returned fire at the suspects before they fled back into the property.
